League Minutes:
League is considering the following, to be determined at the August 7, 2013 meeting:
- Allowing 8th graders to play at the Middle School level, regardless of any travel team affiliation. (*Please note that Easton Ice Hockey Club supports keeping the policy of having all 8th grade players petition the League to play at the Middle School level, leaving the League to determine eligibility at this level or play.)
- Eliminating the Pure/Non Pure divisions in the league, having one division, one playoff and one League champion.
Old Business:
- Banquet was great, with a record number in attendance.
- Will get the raffle tickets out earlier next year, to sell throughout the year. Will give 20 tickets to each player.
- Will re-evaluate at each April meeting, whether or not a May, June, and July meeting will be held.
- Once all game schedules and registrations are in, the Club will determine the best use of ice time, allowing for the most ice time possible for each level.
New Business
- Voted on having a quorum of 4 Club members, since only 4 were in attendance.
- Discussed the possibility of moving the Alumni Game Fundraiser to earlier in the year.
- All Easton players, especially at the Varsity level, are encouraged to reach out to past Easton players, and any other prospective players to consider playing for Easton.
- The online registration is up and running. Payment options include paying by credit card all at once, or by 5 automatic payments; or by check. An option to consider volunteering is also included. Anyone checking this box will be contacted as the season gets closer.
- The Club donated a $50 Visa Gift Card to the Casino Royale Night Fundraiser of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association. Longtime EIHC supporter and friend, Mike Lichtenberger and his wife are closely involved in this event, and more information can be found on Facebook at Mike’s Team to Benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association.
- A Memo of Understanding regarding travel player fees will be added to the Club bylaws. A copy of the Memo can be found on the EIHC website, and states the fee responsibilities of all travel players to the club. Fees for each practice/game when a travel responsibility does not conflict will be assessed as follows: $25 for Varsity/JV; $20 for Middle School and $15 for Youth. Parents of all registering travel players will be required to acknowledge reading the Memo of Understanding at the time of registration.
- All coaches and prospective coaches are required to complete their certification. Requirements for each age level are found on the USA Hockey website. Coaches must have proper certification in order to sit on the bench. A Coaches meeting will be scheduled in June. Jeff will reach out to all coaches.
- Rosters will be reviewed at the August meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10pm. Next meeting is August 14 at 7:00pm
